Perched on the west bank of the upper James River, this home is a fusion of vernacular lowland architechture, sensitive site development, and resource efficient building strategies. Metal gable roofs and screened porches recall regional riverside precedents while the slightly elevated structure provides flood protection, increases solar exposure, and offers expansive views of the River.
